In the first half of 2022, the export volume of abrasive and abrasive products was $1.424 billion, up 20.59% year on year. Among them, the export volume of silicon carbide increased by 21.18%, the export volume increased by 80.94%; The export volume of other artificial corundum (mainly white corundum) increased by 11.57% and 35.32%, respectively. The export volume of brown corundum decreased by 3.61% and increased by 22.94%. The export volume of abrasive tools decreased by 8.08%, and the export volume decreased by 2.29%. In general, in the first half of 2022, except for silicon carbide and other artificial corundum, the export volume of the other three products all declined by different magnitudes. In terms of export volume, except for abrasive tools, all kinds of products have risen by different ranges, which is mainly affected by the continuous rise in the prices of the main raw materials in the industry, the increase of product prices by enterprises and the fluctuation of exchange rates.

As a big country in the production of abrasive and abrasive tools, the export volume is 13 times of import volume, which is a very significant trade surplus. The import value of abrasives and abrasive products in the first half of 2022 was $110 million, down 4.5% year on year. Among them, the brown corundum import volume decreased by 81.43%, and the import volume increased by 14.02%. The import volume of other artificial corundum (mainly white corundum) decreased by 27.82% year-on-year, and the import volume was up or down by 23.23% year-on-year; The import volume of silicon carbide increased by 420.51%, and the import volume increased by 52.87%. The import volume of abrasive tools decreased by 3.55%, and the import volume decreased by 5.33%. Because the import volume is small, so the fluctuation of all kinds of products also appears more drastic.
